Human Resources Manager

The HR Manager is responsible for ensuring that Mariposa Food Co-op maintains compliance with federal, state and local labor laws, and with its internal policies and procedures regarding the employment of staff.  The HR Manager is also responsible for identifying, arranging, and creating staff development opportunities as well as the administration of the Co-op’s health benefits, including reviewing benefits packages yearly, budgeting for benefits, explaining benefits to staff and enrolling staff.

Meat, Cheese, & Bakery Buyer

The Meat, Cheese, & Bakery Buyer is responsible for selecting, pricing and promoting designated products in the Meat, Cheese, & Bakery department at Mariposa Food Co-op as well as meeting objectives for sales, margin and inventory. The Meat, Cheese & Bakery Buyer is also responsible for providing prompt, friendly, informed and helpful customer service in addition to building and sustaining relationships with sales representatives and product vendors.

Cashiers hold the most externally facing position at the Mariposa, and are expected to demonstrate a visibly welcoming disposition and be customer-focused, helpful, and energetic. Cashiers are responsible for independently ringing up all standard customer transactions. They are also responsible for communicating information about the Co-op’s products and membership to current owners and shoppers. Cashiers report directly to the Front End Managers and receive direction from Managers on Duty as well.
