Mariposa Food Co-op’s Community Partners program developed as an additional benefit for Mariposa owners to encourage supporting local businesses in the Philadelphia area. Participation is free.
What is Mariposa Food Co-op?
Located in West Philadelphia, Mariposa Food Co-op is a cooperative grocery store owned by over 2,300 owners. The Co-op strives to provide our community with access to healthy and local foods.
Why should I join?
The program promotes local shopping and gives your business the opportunity to convert our member-owners to loyal customers at your establishment. The program is promoted through our email marketing campaigns, marketing print materials, and social media sites. All participants are listed on our website with a link to business website.
Current participants include the Penn Museum, Wash Cycle Laundry, Hair Vyce Studio, and more.
What benefit or discount should I offer?
It’s up to you! However, discounts must be exclusive to Mariposa owners. Good examples of discounts include:
5% off a purchase of $25
One free appetizer during Happy Hour
Discounted growler fills
Free cup of coffee with a purchase of $5
Discounted group tickets
How do I sign up?
The Community Partners program acts as an extension of Mariposa’s brand, mission and values. The program promotes local and/or independently owned businesses and the West Philadelphia community.
Participation is free although participating businesses must be in line with our mission and values and possess at least one of the following criteria:
Located in West Philadelphia
Independently or cooperatively owned or operated
Demonstrates a commitment to:
Nutrition
Education
Economic justice
Environmental justice
Social justice
Not-for-profit status or not-for-profit in mission
While all applications will accepted for submission, not all applications will be approved. Mariposa does not endorse any religion or political candidate.
